Who Am I?

Hello, my name is Manuel Ángel Hakim, but everyone calls me Manu. I have always been obsessed with performance optimization, whether in sports, business, or life. I am a certified Oxygen Advantage (OA) coach, biohacker, triathlete, surfer, and former professional soccer player.

I have been practicing and training my breathing for 8 years and I have learned that it is the most powerful tool we have to optimize the body and mind. It affects everything: energy, endurance, focus, sleep, recovery, stress, and athletic performance.

My Story

At 16, I started waking up in the middle of the night feeling like I was drowning. I couldn’t breathe. Doctors diagnosed me with sport-induced asthma and forbade me from playing for months. I felt fragile, lost, and decided to leave my career as a professional athlete to study chemical engineering. Years later I discovered it wasn’t asthma: it was a mix of stress, pollution and, above all, dysfunctional breathing.

Since 2016 I have been building startups, taking products to millions of people. I started practicing breathing in 2017, almost by accident. I would sit every morning counting my inhalations; it helped me think better. But in 2018, while leading a company as part of the founding team, I had several panic attacks that took me to the hospital. That’s where my true immersion began: I tried Wim Hof, Conscious Breathing and, more recently, Oxygen Advantage, the method that won me over with its scientific basis and focus on performance.

Last year I left my 10-year career in technology to dedicate myself entirely to teaching breathwork to high-performance athletes and entrepreneurs. My approach is practical, science-based, and designed to boost your capacity for recovery, endurance, and mental control when you need it most.
